Matt developed a keen professional interest in training people after completing his Level 1 Strength & Conditioning Coaching course with ASCA.
Following his career in the Australian Army, Matt was the Asst S&C Coach to the 2009 QLD Cup Rugby League Premiers – Sunshine Sea Eagles. Following the premiership win, he was then promoted to their Head Strength & Conditioning Coach whilst also developing the training programs and coaching the U16 & U18 Sunshine Coast Rugby League Development Squads.
Due to personal circumstances, Matt relocated to his home town of Yamba and decided to open a gym with the primary goal of providing people with a facility to train much like athletes without the need for the elite nature of sport. The Gym Yamba was born as a result.
With an extensive background in many sports from surfing, triathlon, hockey, soccer, martial arts and squash, Matt has developed a rounded and balanced approach to training that suits people of all ages from beginners to advanced.
